10 January, 2025 / Las Vegas, US by Mario Herger, ATOS ASSOCIATION Supporter
The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES for short, traditionally takes place in Las Vegas at the beginning of the new year. Around 100,000 interested people come together to see the latest technology trends and meet like-minded people. CES has also become a mecca for automotive aficionados when it comes to news about electric and autonomous driving and all the “electronic stuff” that comes into use.
This year was dominated by Nvidia, AI and the many GPUs and we are only at the beginning. Every iron, every washing machine, every cereal package will have a GPU with a language model and talk to us and other objects, tell us their status, and not just cars or our cell phones. And I dare to predict that we will see humanoid robots from half a dozen manufacturers walking around the conference center and doing activities at CES 2026 or CES 2027 at the latest. The age of “embodied AI” is only just beginning, and will not end with autonomous cars.
I dare to make another prediction: Elon Musk – no matter how you feel about him – will become the first Ten Trillion Dollar Entrepreneur (10T$E). By that I mean that his companies will reach a market value of 10 trillion dollars in the next 5-10 years. and I have are good reasons to list, why his companies are moving in that direction.
But before that happens, take a look at what was on show at this year’s CES.
The Zeekr vehicle from Geely has already been spotted several times, as it is already being used for test drives in San Francisco. The vehicle was also unveiled at CES 2023. This time, however, there are some interesting details on the Waymo Driver of the 6th Generation that have not been seen before. These are cleaning systems for the sensors. The pictures show windshield wipers with spray nozzles for windshield wiper fluids attached to many of the cameras.
Here a handful of pictures:
The Paderborn-Germany-based company Holon was also present at CES 2025 with its shuttle. The self-driving technology comes from partner Mobileye. Here are a few impressions.
