Lilium announced that Munich and Nuremberg in Germany will be the two locations of the company’s first air taxi hubs. The infrastructure for air taxis has been discussed for several years. Lilium has started discussions about establishing an air taxi hub in Florida, but it’s also stay focused on company’s European goals.
Company intends to launch its aerial transport network in Europe, beginning with partnerships with existing airports in Munich and Nuremberg and also shared that their goals are to provide a service for everyone in the Southern German region, with reasonable costs and significant time savings for all visitors. The airports of Munich and Nuremberg are important transport hubs which is expected to be connected with large and small cities around the area over time.
Lilium’s aim is to create aerial transport network in highly populated areas across the world. In order to do this, it has also teamed with the Spanish infrastructure company Ferrovial to construct at least ten vertiports in Florida and beyond. Lilium is positioning itself as a global leader in the development of both new eVTOL aircraft and the infrastructure that will support them. The company is gradually shifting its focus from aircraft development to roll-out plans, indicating the fast progress of air taxi industry.
